ENTER LAUGHING: The Musical
November 20, 2008 - December 7, 2008
Join us for this uproarious and racy coming of age story based on Carl Reiner’s semi-autobiographical novel. This side-splitting musical comedy is set in 1930’s New York City, where we meet 19 year old David Kolowitz, an aspiring actor who lacks any appreciable talent. Undeterred, he’s convinced he’ll make it, despite his meddling parents’ pleas to become a pharmacist. With stars in his eyes, the enthusiastic and imaginative youth actually lands a gig with a desperate theatre group. Paying for the opportunity to be an actor, David ends up meeting a zany cast of characters and engaging in all sorts of romantic entanglements. His topsy-turvy journey takes the audience on a fun-filled romp that will leave you laughing, start to finish.
Book by Joseph Stein, Tony Award-winning playwright of Fiddler on the Roof, Zorba and She Loves MeMusic and lyrics by Stan Daniels, Emmy Award-winning writer and creator of such classic television programs as The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Taxi.

THE PRODUCERS
Starring Bruce Adler and Avi Hoffman
South Florida Regional Theater Premiere
January 15, 2009 - February 8, 2009
Mel Brooks’ record-breaking Tony Award winning musical is coming to Boca! The New Vista Theatre is staging a lavish, full-scale production starring Avi Hoffman and Bruce Adler. You won’t be able to help but laugh out loud during this hysterically funny farce. It’s New York 1959, and two theatrical producers are scheming to get rich by outsmarting the IRS and overselling interests in what they feel is a sure-fire flop. As they execute their plot to cast the worst actors ever, in the worst play ever, the audience is continuously entertained with the show’s now classic song and dance production numbers.
Don’t miss this MUST-SEE show of the season!

This compelling and controversial musical is based on the 1965 Academy Award winning Foreign Film. Set in Czechoslovakia during World War II, as the secret police begin the Aryanization of Jewish businesses. During this disturbing and chaotic time, an improbable friendship develops between a mild mannered carpenter, Tono Brtko and an old Jewish woman, Rozalia Lautman. Tono has been assigned to take over the unsuspecting Rozalia’s Shop on Main Street, but the Jewish community offers him payment to protect her instead. Their relationship grows and Tono finds himself emotionally conflicted, as the horror of the era escalates. Tragedy ensues leaving the audience with a haunting and thought-provoking conclusion.
